So about 2000 years ago a Hebrew rabbi was leading a peaceful rebellion against the establishment of his day. Cornered by both the religious and governmental aristocracy, he was asked in front of his followers, “Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
Good question. He answered, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s”. Seems pretty cut and dry, right? We should pay our taxes. So then why did the religious folk respond like this… “When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way”.
Hu? What’s so marvelous about his answer? Just pay your taxes, dude. Well let’s find out shall we. Click play.
